The Find: Underground Fashion Market

THE FIND

'The Find' is the brainchild of Chelsea Dreyer, who started her career in public relations but switched to something that would allow her to use her creative side. She quit her job in January after she thought of the idea of bringing an underground fashion marketplace to Houston. In April, the first 'Find' event was born. She brought different local designers of jewlery, clothing and handbags together to sell their one-of-a-kind designs in one space for two days during the fall and spring seasons. After Houston, Chelsea is planning to take the traveling underground fashion marketplace to cities such as New Orleans, Dallas, London, New York, and Los Angeles.

This past Friday & Saturday, (October 9 & 10th) the fall (and second) installment of 'The Find' took place at Winter Street Studios. The first day of the event was on Friday. Both days they were open from 9-6pm. I was lucky enough to find out about 'The Find' and quickly signed up to volunteer.

Upon entering, I was blown away! This was one of those things that you felt like it was your own little secret... but a secret that you wanted to tell everyone you knew about it. There were several designers that had amazing pieces. I seriously wanted to buy all of it. There was a wide range to choose from depending on your style and each of the vendors were there to make your experience worthwhile.

Lovely vintage Etienne Aigner boots from Nstyle Vintage - my favorite FIND at 'The Find' but sadly, they were too small. :( I love them though and will be requesting that Wyzetta (owner of Nstyle Vintage) find them in my size with corresponding calf width!

Great designer with really awesome charms to add to gold plated necklaces.

Designers hard at work, selling their wares. I loved this designer's delicate stones. She also had chunky stone necklaces with gold accents.

The beginning of 'The Find' madness.

I had an excellent time working with Chelsea. She is passionate, nice, and smart! She really inspired me to go for what I want to do in life and to JUST DO IT.

Don't miss this event when it happens again in April. I know I will be there.
